Jim Beatty Interview

Jim Beatty is the first person to run a sub-4:00 Mile indoors which
he did on February 10, 1962 when he ran 3:58.9 at the Los Angeles
Invitational. The trailblazer is also the first American to run sub-3:40
for 1500 meters, sub-8:30 at 2 Miles and a sub-14:00 5000 meters.

 

Medtronic TC 1 Mile Moves to Hennepin Avenue in Downtown Minneapolis

St. Paul, Minn. ‰ÛÓ Hennepin Avenue will provide the dramatic backdrop
for the Medtronic TC 1 Mile, which will draw more than 3,000 runners to
a brand new downtown Minneapolis course on Thursday evening, May 14.
The 11th event edition is host the USATF Men’s & Women’s 1 Mile Road
Championships and is the second stop on the Bring Back the Mile Grand
Prix Tour.

Lagat, Cain Headline NYRR Wanamaker Mile 2015

NEW YORK ‰ÛÓ Eight-time champion Bernard Lagat of Tucson, AZ, and New
York native and defending champion, Mary Cain, 18, of Portland, OR, will
star in the NYRR Wanamaker Mile at the 108th NYRR Millrose Games on
Saturday, February 14, it was announced by Mary Wittenberg, president
and CEO of New York Road Runners.
