In runaway mode, the appearance of Serafini solo approaching 5-miles meant yours truly didn’t have to break a sweat running back to the beach for a finish line shot that would have looked a lot like our Sept/Oct cover from August’s Bridge of Flowers USATF-NE 8K Championship. Guess who just turned 40 in Sept., ran her first race as a Master here, setting a new F40 course record and placing 7th overall, and is a past World Mtn. Running Champion, and reps the GMAA out of VT. That’s it, you’ve either got it or haven’t been reading NER for the past two decades. Photo by FitzFoto/NERunner
