enthusiasts as runners and their friends and families
headed to the Run's finish line activities at the end of Broad
Street in the Philadelphia Navy Yard in South Philadelphia.
Race Director Jim Marino stated, "This event continues to
grow with the large surge of women taking part and the
great word of mouth publicity among the runners
themselves". The gender gap continued to close as 6,150
females participated compared to 7,414 male participants
in 2006. Runners from over 53 States and foreign countries
participated in this year's race.
