Montreal Express Headed to Cambridge
You might not think a resident of Montreal, Quebec
wouldn't frequent many US races, let alone New England
and New York, but perky Diane LeGare has
certainly left her mark on those occasions she's run South
of the Border.
LeGare currently owns the Senior course records at
the Utica Boilermaker and Stockade-athon
15Ks (NY), Bridge of Flowers and James
Joyce Ramble 10Ks (MA) and Clarence DeMar
(VT) and Chris Thater (NY) 5Ks, as well as every
Canadian senior women's record from 1500m thru
the half marathon.
In 2001, LeGare was the overall female winner of the
ING Ottawa Half Marathon in 1:21:25. In 2002, she
was the second female overall at the Yankee
Homecoming 10M in 1:03:42, just 16 seconds off the
winning time and one place ahead of 2004 Olympic
Marathon trialist Seana Carmean.
On March 13, LeGare is looking forward to running on the
fast, certified An Ras Mor course and hoping for good
weather.
