Great weather for the first time in a long time at Doyle's,
which means the NER limo stayed long enough to give
Ken O'Regan'sshantytown K-car a jump after
Paul Hammond had bitten through the engine
block.This type of behavior didn't go unnoticed in Doyle's, but
given that there were eight gals dancing on the bar at one
point, it was generally admired.
Metric miler JUSTIN Lutz,who penned "Running
Under The Gun" last issue, took this one clipping off 5's and
followed by a Sea of Red that was led by none other
than the Prince of Pilsner, mounting the throne
rather early in the Series. The Keg has a point over HFC's
Jason Cakouros courtesy of a surging Mike
McGrane who placed ahead of JC at Doyle's.
The leaders weren't the only runners to split the first two
races - Dave Wessman and Dave Cobb
did likewise and are tied for Senior Supremacy and YO!
There's a tug of war in the 70+ division with Dr. Bob
Hillman and the Granite State's Jim
McLaughlin now tied.
Fit to be tied is the entire Masters Division. Spinney is
juiced, as is the aforementioned Down Easter Hammond,
but what about the Rhode Island Rockets - Norm
Bouthillier says he's in for the remainder of the Series
after grabbing 10 points at Doyle's and HFC's Bobby
Bligh is right there with Norm. Starting slow (relatively)
but sure to pick up speed is NH's Tom Doody, just one point
removed from Spinney.
Rest your livers, next up is the Irish Village 5M in
Yarmouth, MA on May 7. (P.S.: Did I mention we have
