The wheat gets cut from the chaff in the flat as a doormat but hot as Hades Portsmouth Runner's Alley/Red Hook 5K. Granite State did a great job in hand selecting 60 of the 92 runners without (chips after the race ran out at 1600) and that includes Bob Hillman who eked ahead of Jim McLaughlin (Rye duathlon the day before).

Some movement at the top here as Pub leader Mike Slinskey's 4:45 opener was a tough sell in the final sun-drenched mile where several Publicans curled like French fries.
