After placing second overall on the historic streets of
Downtown Haverhill, it's cruisin' time for CSU
coverboy and Pub Series stalwart Terry McNatt. The
maillot jeune awaits at Paddy's. Our condolences to CSU's
Lorin Obler who saw the silver chalice slip from his
grasp while doing a face plant before the Big Hill at
Trail to Ale. Lorin e-mailed that he's still shooting for
Paddy's.
With Joe Navas calculating it's over both in the
quest for a vest and the top spot on the award stand,
Quarterdeck beer sampler Mike Norton is chuckling
at the body count as he takes over second. The legend -
Paul Hammond - is once again proving he's Mr.
October while stablemate Chris Spinney is finally
road worthy.
HFC's Lee Danforth is solid among the top 5 while
the BAA's crafty Chris Smith is once again poised to
claim the top Master spot if he doesn't move into the top 5
himself.
While most of his Thirsty Irish Runner teammates
were frying eggs on the hood of their RV in Chicago,
true-blue Dave Wessman was locking up the
Senior division. NH's Brian Byrne turned 60 three
races into the Series and resides as a lame-duck second
among Seniors but a live third among Veterans. That'll be
second after Paddy's as he's just 2-points behind Dave
Pember who'll miss Paddy's while running the Moab
Half Marathon.
Since Iron Joe Drugan turned to aluminum, the
Veteran division belongs to Dave Cobb.
Despite being slobberknocked by everyone - including
Marshfield teammate Tom Wright - at Bobby Bell,
Bob Hillman still ran a good race, picked up a point
and will be wearing the 70+ maillot jeune at Paddys
To that end, anyone that's leading the Open, Masters,
Senior, Vet or 70+ division should stop by the NER booth
across from Paddy's on race day and pick up your yellow
leader's jersey. For anyone whose done 5 of 6 races, we'll
also be passing out EPO.
