hordes in the final Series race at Paddy's Pub in W. Newton, MA.
Attrition among contenders gave Series champ
Jason Cakouros a clear runway at Paddy's Shillelagh Shuffle
3M. After 8 straight days of rain, the roads were dry as the pride of the Hurtin'
For Certain Striders outlegged CSU's Terry McNatt, 15:18 to 15:27.
(Both Jason and Terry's wife's were under the radar at Paddy's, but that's
the women's story.)
After four straight championships, The Keg tapped out,
dropping out of the top five but remaining forever numero uno in the
hearts of Publicans. Everything else was status quo except for Top 10
runner Bobby Bligh of the HFC missing his 2nd race and thus
disappearing from the results.
The women's championship was decided by 2 points, the closest ever
(male or female) in Pub Series history. There was a shake-out of
significance on the women's side, so we're taking a box of Kleenex and
heading over there.
Congrats to all! Everyone who completed at least five Series races
(who's a subscriber) will get an invite to Doyle's for the Awards
hootenanny, traditionally the 1st or 2nd Thursday in Dec.
