Last year, Saucony debuted our Saucony 26
program in Boston. Through the
people who participated, we were able to share the amazing
stories of a small collection of runners, who are
representative of the entire collection of marathoners, with
the people of Greater Boston.
The riveting stories of the inaugural Saucony 26 Boston
group can still be viewed at
Saucony 26
Once again, Saucony is seeking twenty-six people
from communities in and
around the Boston Marathon race course who have
their own special reason
for running.
There will be one runner chosen to represent each full mile
of the race course. There will be male and female runners
chosen. There will be runners experiencing their first
marathon, while others will have run a dozen or more. There
will be runners in the program who have trium phed over
injury or illness, while others are running for the benefit of
another.
Runners who are selected to participate in the program
will receive:
* - special Saucony 26 apparel which they are expected to
run in
* - a pair of Saucony shoes
* - a contribution of $10 for every mile of the race completed
to either keep or donate to a charity of choice
* - 4 invitations, including the runner, to a special family
reception area race day
* - and more!
The Saucony 26 program is a way for all of us to not only
celebrate our differences, but also to celebrate our collective
and passionate love for the sport of running. We would like
to encourage you to share the basis of this program with
worthy runners who are already qualified to run this year's
marathon.
