NYRR Will Announce the Signing of the First Two
Professional Athletes for the Sunday, November 7 During the Live Stream

will launch the ING New York City Marathon 2010 by broadcasting the
race’s lottery selection show for the first time ever on Wednesday, April
7, live at 12:00 noon EDT, it was announced today by Mary Wittenberg, president
and CEO of New York Road Runners. The selection show will be available at www.nyrr.org and will also include the announcement
of the first man and woman signed for the race’s professional field.
“With a record number of applicants, the anticipation
as to who’s in is intense as we head to lottery day and the launch of our
2010 marathon season,” said Wittenberg. “Lottery day will be a
lucky day for those runners accepted, and it is commitment day for two of the
world’s best athletes and for thousands of runners around the globe who
are already Û¢in’ NY this year. With seven months to go until race
day, it’s NYRR’s and their first stride.”
The live lottery selection show, airing Wednesday, April 7
at 12:00 p.m. EDT at www.nyrr.org, will be
hosted by veteran sports broadcaster Bruce Beck and Mary Wittenberg. The
15-minute program will include the ceremonial selection of eight Marathon
lottery winners from around the globe and the announcement of the first two
athletes for the race’s professional field.
