JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. ÛÒ (April 13, 2013) ÛÒ The Tri-Cities Track Classic, organized by Knoxville Youth Athletics, is hosting its annual Track & Field festival for the first time at Kermit Tipton Stadium at Science Hill High School in Johnson City. Also new this year will be the addition of the Ray Flynn Boys’ Mile. Named after one of the all-time Mile greats, the high school Mile will feature some of the top talent in the area. Beginning with the Tri-Cities Track Classic in Johnson City, TN, the fourth stop on the 2013 BBTM Tour, top high school Milers from the area will toe the line in the inaugural Boys’ Ray Flynn Mile and the Girls’ Markie Voyles Mile. Across the country in Walnut, CA, top elites, collegiate and prep athletes will toe the line at the 55th annual Mt. SAC Relays. Meet Director, Doug Todd, has put together an incredible prep boys’ Mile field, which has all the markings of an instant classic. Back in America’s heartland, the Glenn Cunningham Mile at the Kansas Relays has compiled some of the nation’s best Milers to make a run at Jim Ryun’s 36-year-old 3:54.7 meet record. LAWRENCE, Kan. ÛÒ A collection of 12 of the nationÛªs top Milers have agreed to race in the prestigious Glenn Cunningham Mile at the 2013 Kansas Relays it was announced Monday by Kansas officials. Headlining the competitive field will be Olympians Leo Manzano and Nick Symmonds, former Oregon All-American A.J. Acosta and the two-time KU Relays Mile champion Peter Van Der Westhuizen.
