2016 B.A.A. Distance Medley Registration to Open Tuesday, January 19
Exclusive Three-Race Registration Window Will Open at 10:00 a.m. ET.
BOSTON ÛÒ Registration for the 2016
B.A.A. Distance Medley
will begin at 10:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, allowing for
early entry into the three-race series. In its fifth year, the B.A.A.
Distance Medley is comprised of AprilÛªs
B.A.A. 5K, JuneÛªs
B.A.A. 10K, and OctoberÛªs
B.A.A. Half Marathon, presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.
During this exclusive registration window,
runners interested in entering all three of the B.A.A. Distance Medley
events can sign up for the series online at
www.baa.org. Registration for the series will be limited to the first 3,000 registrants.
The 2016 B.A.A. Distance Medley begins with the
B.A.A. 5K on Saturday, April 16, followed by the B.A.A. 10K on Sunday,
June 26, and finishes with the B.A.A. Half Marathon, presented by
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, on Sunday, October 9.
Everyone who completes the B.A.A. Distance
Medley will receive a special commemorative medal for the series, in
addition to receiving a finisher’s medal for each race. Each runner
will also be listed on the B.A.A. Distance Medley Leader Board, which
ranks the top male and female competitors throughout the series.
Runners who register for the B.A.A. Distance Medley in January will
receive a special bib number indicating they are a B.A.A. Distance
Medley participant. In 2015, 752 men and 841 women completed the three
race series.
B.A.A. Distance Medley age group awards will
also be given to the top finishers in the following age groups: 14-19,
20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-70,
70-74, 75-79, and 80+. Your age group category in the 2016 B.A.A.
Distance Medley will be determined by the age which you will be on race
day at the 2016 B.A.A. Half Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, October 9,
2016.
The B.A.A. Distance Medley registration window
of January 19 through January 22, 2016 is only available to runners who
wish to sign up for all three events in the series. The cost to
register for the 2016 B.A.A. Distance Medley is $225 USD.
The minimum age for entry into the B.A.A.
Distance Medley is 14 years old. Runners interested in registering for
only one or two of the three events in the series must do so when
registration opens for those individual races (dates for individual
registration can be found below). Each of the three races will have its
own maximum field size limit.
Participation and performance details for
professional athletes, including prize purses and bonus incentives,
will be announced in early February.
