Pub Series Race No. 2 to Feature Inflatable Pub

Where else but Liam Maguire’s Almost 5-Miler for the epic race premiere of this authentic 26 x 16 inflatable pub—not at the ‘before’ party at Liam’s from 4-6 on Saturday, May 4 (NER will be there!)…nor the ‘after party’ at Liam Maguire’s Irish Pub from 10:00 am to noon on Main St. in Falmouth the following day (NER will be there!)…but at 43 Sippewissett Rd. in Falmouth for the ‘after after’ party at Bird Manor overlooking an estuary leading to Little Falmouth Harbor (NER has not and will not miss this!).

The pub—tentatively titled: New England Runner’s Malt & Hop Stop—comes with a serving bar, four high top tables and stools, with a front and back entrance. Don’t let the de facto name fool you, this is entirely the brainstorm (and financial burden) of race organizers PCB Management. The organization consists of Liam’s Tri-Directors Russ Pelletier, Jack Carroll and Courtney Bird.

In addition to tents (if there’s rain), a huge barbeque, kegs of Off Shore Ale & Guinness, the kickass blues band Retro Roots will be playing.

Back to the Inflatable Pub: It was during a festive December Stroll in Falmouth that Russ Pelletier and his wife, Joan, happened upon a pair of inflatable pubs for the first time and made themselves at home. Russ, known for his financial restraint within the group, made the mistake of telling Bird about the experience.

The former Cape Cod Marathon Director for 30 years, Bird was known for giving prizes such as…a kitchen sink…so of course a call was put into the Inflatable Pubs Cape Cod company and the deluxe model was destined for his scenic acreage on race day.
