Free Pair of Puma Shoes Headed to the Granite State

Trivia Titan for our Jan/Feb issue is Laconia, NH’s John Mercer. During his days with Club Northeast, John ran the Boston Marathon 12 years straight from 1992-2003 and has been a subscriber since Boston Running News days.

Now in his swinging sixties, John ran 20:57 for 5K not to long ago at the Snowflake Shuffle in Bedford, NH. On his current training, John comments, “Most of my running these days is with my adult sons. Best therapy in the world.”

John will receive a pair of Puma shoes of his choosing for answering that the marathon Sam Fazioli set a record at two weeks before winning Baystate was the NH Marathon, and that the fellow in the Grinch costume in The Burren was CT race director Way Hedding.

Runners-up Martha O’Brien of Methuen, MA and the Merrimack Valley Striders, along with Ed Ithier of Hooksett, NH and the Greater Manchester RC, receive NER running/gardening  gloves.
