It was only a matter of time until serial trivia follower and Liberty AC ace Alda Cossi hit paydirt with NER’s Trivia quiz every issue. Aldi’s gotten the previous two issue’s questions correct, but this time it was her name picked from the Trivia Bowl.
The Questions in shorthand:
1) The historic building that first produced Fig Newtons and Lorna Doone cookies sits scant yards from the finish of what popular race.
The Answer: The Summer Classic in Cambridge, although the Spring, Fall and Winter Classics would also suffice.
2) The photo caption containing the term “the devastation of…” refers to what?
The Answer: Gallows Lane Hill (part of the Litchfield Road Race).
OK, so maybe this was a secondary thrill after Alda participated on the Liberty squad that set the W60 US 4×800 record of 12:29.09 at Regis College in Weston, MA during the USATF-NE Open & Master TF Championship on July 30. Well done ladies!
