Hills, Clouds, Conga Lines & More on Tap at NER Pub Series Race Numero Uno – The Irish Clover 5M

It was a soft day in Eire for the 1st race in this year’s Malt & Hops Tour under mostly cloudy skies with a brisk wind and temps in the mid-40s.

You want hills, the Irish Clover has them in abundance. Congrats to Pub Series poster boy Greg Picklesimer in winning the vaunted kilt at the conclusion of the 3-race Irish Rover Series.

One Series ends and another begins with familiar Publicans liberally sprinkled among the top-25 (and beyond) men and women’s results.

If you dispatch folks from the race venue of Dracut and nearby environs it shines a light on (quite possible) early leaders Patrick and Elizabeth Bugbee of CSU. As an added plus, the couple’s new addition to their family was a hit during the awards ceremony.

We’d post the infamous Conga Line interlude here if it wasn’t 53.8mb in size but it’s still visible on our Instagram page (@newenglandrunner).

Pub Stalwarts Marge Bellisle, Patrick Bugbee (M40), Dave Pember and Eileen Cakouris (and Michael McGrane off by 1-point)lead their divisions but it’s a longer journey this year with 7-races so time will tell.

Duel beer offerings and an ongoing barbeque await in what we hope will be the sunny confines of Billings Field for the 2nd Series race on June 2 – the 30th Corrib Pub Classic 5K.

Bring your sun block and beer coozies and we’ll see you there!!!!!
