OLYMPIC BRONZE MEDALIST JENNY SIMPSON TO RUN IN 89TH MANCHESTER ROAD RACE

Scott and Jenny Simpson’s Run USA tour will bring them to Manchester, CT on Thanksgiving.
Olympic bronze medalist Jenny Simpson will run in the 89th Manchester Road Race, race officials announced today.
Simpson, 39, of Boulder, CO, won the bronze medal in the 1500 meters at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
A three-time Olympian, she also won the 1500 meters at the 2011 World Championships and was the silver medalist in that event at the 2013 and 2017 World Championships.
Simpson was an All-American runner at the University of Colorado. Although best known for her achievements on the track in the 1500 meters (personal best 3:57.22) and 3000 meters steeplechase (personal best 9:12.50), Simpson compiled an accomplished record in all long-distance events. She has run the half marathon in 1:10:35 and the marathon in 2:31:39.
Recently retired from the competitive track circuit, Jenny Simpson is currently on a running tour of the United States (“Run USA”) with her husband, marathoner Jason Simpson. They are celebrating the sport of distance running with local running communities by competing in road races in all 50 states.
This will be the first Manchester appearance for both Simpsons.
The 89th Manchester Road Race will be held at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, (November 27, 2025). The 4.737-mile race, which annually attracts thousands of runners— including some of the world’s best long-distance athletes—starts and finishes on Main Street, in front of St. James Church.
